This is a method also known as solvent or absorbent cleaning. The term dry cleaning is due to the fact that no water is required to have the carpet clean and done. Absorbent dry cleaning substances are sprinkled on the carpet. These are carefully spread on the carpet with a special carpet cleaning machine. They are then left for some time to absorb any dirt on the carpet after which the carpet gets vacuumed. For heavily soiled carpets, a pre spray with a detergent can be done on the carpet before dry cleaning commences. This is to ensure that no dirt is left on the carpet at the end of the dry cleaning process.
